The Wayward Schoolgirl

Skirt, thrifted F21. Cinching belt, Nine West. Button up shirt, Go Fish missionary store. Tights, Wal Mart bargain section. Varsity cardigan, Tommy Hilfiger (link goes to similar version). Oxford flats and earrings, vintage.

She in an archetype in my mind as far as private schools with uniforms go. If the uniform requires a skirt, you bet it's going to be short. If it requires tights, then they better not be basic. She wears a little bit more makeup than is supposed to be allowed and always pushes the boundaries on the uniform as far as she can. She somehow always gets away with her stylish alterations. And she was also the inspiration for my outfit today.

I never went to a school with a uniform, but if I had, I know that I would never be the one to bend the rules. I'm pretty incorrigible when it comes to following guidelines, but I've found out just how fun dressing up as a specific character can be. While I was putting this outfit together, I had a vision of the kind of day I would have based on what I was wearing. And while I haven't broken any rules yet, maybe my outfit just needs more time to sink in.

I love the way this concept came together, everything is definately not what the school woul dbe expecting but not too wild to be penalized. It's wonderful and I hope you do one little naughty thing. Even if it's as simple as drinking from the carton =O

I went to a private school with uniform and let me tell you I broke all the rules regarding uniform etiquette, but the uniform wasn't cute, and I didn't styled it cute either, I was a tomboy back then.

I love you tights <3

Girls that glitter love the dark
