Wearing the Pants

Checked blazer, thrifted. BDG Oxford, Urban Outfitters. Black skinny jeans, American Eagle. Vintage Dooney & Bourke purse. TBA Chelsea Boots, Modcloth (Sold out, similar here). Watch, Target. NARS Velvet Matte lip pencil in Dragon Girl

Pants are a highly underrated aspect of many-a-blogger's wardrobe. Most personal style bloggers in the demographic that I follower prefer other separates, say skirts and blouses, or just straight up would rather wear a dress than any other article of clothing. But a killer pair of jeans or trousers is a very powerful thing.
In this outfit, I felt as though I could conquer anything, legs showing or not. I will admit to having a bit of a denim obsession (and I have an inside joke with a friend about just how extensive that obsession may be); however, after buying my Imogene Slims from Imogene + Willie, I haven't even thought about purchasing another pair of jeans. Now I regularly rotate between those and my high-waisted pair from Urban Outfitters; although, I think we all know which pair will last longer. Other than that I can't get enough of wool trousers and printed, cropped pants. It's the perfect menswear inspired touch to counter some of my more feminine dresses.
Basically, I love pants. The two legged pairs just feel like home more so that bearing my skinny runner's legs in a skirt or dress does. Unfortunately, the weather in East Tennessee stays in the upper 80s until much later in the year, but that doesn't mean I'm not rocking pants every chance I get.  I always go through my phases with dresses and girlier things, but I know my odd trouser affinity is here to stay.

I love wearing pants and only recently started wearing dresses pretty frequently. When I'm running out the door, it might be easier to throw on a dress, but I almost always reach for a pair of jeans and a blouse. Seeing your lovely trousers makes me want a nice pair to wear instead of always wearing jeans!

I have only recently become denim obsessed myself and I know exactly what you mean about a killer pair of jeans being a powerful thing. I, too, have a pair of the high waisted UO jeans, but my J Brands feel better, look better, will last longer and were made in CA.

I love pants too! I need to find a good pair of high-wasted black pants. I had a pair from UO but they ripped :( Obvious trade off of buying cheap pants.
