July is a month for seeing things through a patriotic lens. While July 4th is only once a year, a lot of American citizens pretty much adopt the attitude of reverence for their country year round. I've had a limited experience when it comes to interacting with people from outside of my home country. In fact, most people I know live just around the bend or down the interstate.
I certainly don't mind the classic color combination of red, white, and blue, especially during the patriotic month of July. However, it seems as though the traditional representation and pride of many who don the three colors is somewhat contradictory. I'm not denying that this is the case for me. The colors of my outfit might hint at tradition, but at the same time some of the aspects of my life are being turned completely topsy turvy!
