Although we all probably know the story from the Lindsay Lohan version of The Parent Trap, it's a movie that never really gets old. Both the original and updated versions are one of my favorite summer indulgences (how awesome would it be to go to a sleep away camp?), but the 1961 version tickled my visual fancies as I was flipping through channels yesterday. The twins certainly have style, but I must admit that my favorite scene is the dance at the end of the week of camp for all the pretty dresses and twirling about.
In this version, Sharon is the posh twin, living a life of etiquette with her mother and grandparents in Boston. On the other hand, Susan (Susie) is the California girl with more of a tomboy style and attitude. Honestly, I could probably do another set just based on the mother (Maggie, played by Maureen O'Hara) and her wardrobe; but hopefully you'll like my picks for the two girls.
