Bloom Theory

1, 2, 3

Found via Amber's blog, I can't help but be drawn to the decadence of Bloom Theory's luxurious camera straps. I admit that I'm probably a bit too utilitarian to actually justify spending over one hundred dollars on something that I find more inconvenient than pretty, but it's fun to imagine toting around one of my cameras with such a beautiful strap to accompany it. While I'm all for supporting small, independent business ideas (read more about Bloom Theory's story here), I can definitely see this turning into a summer DIY project!

The Summer Shakedown

Dusty pink cardigan, J Crew (similar). Burnt orange linen pants, Target. White ruffle top, Candie's from Kohl's. T-strap sandals, American Eagle. Vintage thrifted purse. Ray-Ban sunglasses. Thanks to Reid for most of the pictures!

This outfit marks the last day that I officially lived in my dorm room. As awful as living in a 15x10 foot room with another person may sound, Ari and I really managed to turn it into home. I helped her move out the rest of her stuff after our last final yesterday and saying goodbye to the room was pretty odd. It's not as if I'm graduating and am actually moving on, but each year that passes in college feels a lot more significant than the high school years.
As far as the outfit goes, it felt very preppy-girl-goes-on-vacation to me. I'm not complaining, though. The pants feel like pajamas and look a lot more expensive than they were. I can't wait until my mom wears her pair (in lilac!) considering that she was the one who picked them out first.
As I'm typing this, I'm planning my first fun thing of the summer: a day at the lake house with family and friends! Expect pictures from the outing soon!

We're Off to See the Wizard

Styling, photography, and make up, Ashlyn K.

As I was walking around campus, the entire crew of models in tow, we got quite a few happy looks. I never tell people exactly what shoot I'm doing unless they guess first and luckily most people knew exactly what I was going for with these ladies. I'm so glad that I'm studying something in school that allows this to be homework!
My favorite shot is the one of "Dorothy" (one of my suite mates next year, Becca) leaping. It only took three frames to get that shot exactly how I wanted. I owe a lot to the personal quirks of each girl who modeled for me. Lucy (the cowardly lion) definitely helped out with posing considering her extensive knowledge of America's Next Top Model. Each girl actually added their own little charm to the shoot. I don't think it could have worked out better!
