Green bow blouse, Tulle. Black silky skirt, thrifted. Cognac tote, Francesca's Collections. Zigzag flats, Missoni for Target.
Every body type comes with its own set of problems. It's a shame, but that infamous scene in Mean Girls where all the Plastics start dissing their bodies is way too realistic. While I wish this weren't true, and I typically roll my eyes at the "dress for your shape" articles in fashion magazines, I'm pretty sure this ensemble would have editors' approval for "flattering". What I mean by that is because I typically pretty much ignore any rules that dictate what looks good or right or hot or whatever for my stick straight, athletic body type, wearing something that feels like the exact right shape for me is actually pretty nice.

I know what you mean. all those articles get on my nerves too, but I gotta admit that clothing that fits me and is a certain shape does wonders. But I am basically like you; I just wear what I want most of the time, hehe.
I love your bag, so lovely :)
I do believe that some body type fits certain style better, but in the end I really just wear whatever I like. No one can stand in between me and my cute dresses. =)

Yeah I don't usually pay attention to those articles either, though like you said it is nice sometimes to wear something you feel really does work with your shape :) Cute flats and bag, too!
That shade of green is stunning on you! And those flats are adorable!! I don't really pay attention to the those articles either. I sort of just wear what I want, when I want really...

It's hard for me not to want to pay attention to those articles. My body has changed since I was your age because, as my mother so well prophesized, I'm a "late bloomer" and past couple of years bloomed into thighs and hips... no upper body blooming I guess. But I used to be exactly your body type. Just kind of straight and athletic. Now I don't even know what I am (I'm too small to be a pear) but all I know is I wear whatever because I have NO IDEA what looks good on my "body type"... or if I even have one lmao.
By the way you look good in everything you've posted, silly!
Those shoes are amazing.
